As virtual worlds grow in popularity for social interaction, creativity, and learning, understanding what makes them engaging and user-friendly is challenging. Many digital spaces fail to maintain user interest due to poor design, difficult navigation, or lack of meaningful interactivity. Both creators and users need to better understand what makes a virtual experience compelling.
Digital Nomads (DN) is a weekly event on the Spatial platform that explores virtual environments to understand these factors as well as what it is that creates the feeling of immersion in virtual worlds. The series brings together diverse participants to collaboratively analyze the strengths and weaknesses of various digital spaces, aiming to identify what makes them engaging and appealing to users.
Immersive Exploration and Collaborative Learning
Each week, we explore virtual worlds, focusing on active participation and critical analysis. As we navigate these environments, we observe how design elements impact our experience, identifying factors that enhance or hinder engagement. Following and during the exploration, open discussions allow all participants to share insights and suggestions for improvement, fostering collaborative learning and a deeper understanding of effective UX design and user engagement in virtual spaces.
