As virtual worlds grow in popularity for social interaction, creativity, and learning, understanding what makes them engaging and user-friendly is challenging. Many digital spaces fail to maintain user interest due to poor design, difficult navigation, or lack of meaningful interactivity. Both creators and users need to better understand what makes a virtual experience compelling.
Challenge
"Digital Nomads" is a weekly event on the Spatial platform that explores virtual environments to understand user engagement, navigation, and interactivity. The series brings together diverse participants to collaboratively analyze the strengths and weaknesses of various digital spaces, aiming to identify what makes them engaging and appealing to users.

Every Thursday we launch from “The First Wave” on Spatial at 3pm CET. You can join us on Mobile, PC or in VR through the Meta Quest. All are welcome!

Immersive Exploration and Collaborative Learning
Each week, "Digital Nomads" participants explore a new virtual world, focusing on active participation and critical analysis. As we navigate these environments, we observe how design elements impact our experience, identifying factors that enhance or hinder engagement.
Following the exploration, open discussions allow all participants to share insights and suggestions for improvement, fostering collaborative learning and a deeper understanding of effective UX design and user engagement in virtual spaces.

The main goal of "Digital Nomads" is to discover what makes virtual spaces engaging and appealing to users. By exploring various environments, participants gain insights into user attraction and retention, which are essential for creating compelling digital experiences.
